What determines your self-worth? | What determines your value?
The opinions of our friends and families? Some positive or negative comments from our boss on any given day?
What about a particularly great or scary hair or skin day? The absence or presence of an impressive education, the state of our bank account, the quality and credentials of our life partner, or whatever else we see as worthy and successful on the external plane.

The thing with letting external factors determine our value is that it can be taken away. It is subject to daily and drastic changes. If we determine our own value, IT IS OURS TO KEEP. If no one happens to be ‘buying’ at any given time, it doesn’t change our value. We are able to have a true north, a steadfast beacon of our own worth through the peaks and valleys of life’s good and bad days and give and takes from external sources.
Don’t give away your power by letting others decide what your worth is. You decide.
Self-worth is at the heart of what emotional intelligence is all about.
