What is a stress trigger?
Disagreements, unfair treatment, criticism, being lied to, rude or unfriendly treatment and so on.
We cannot avoid these things from happening, life has a way of giving us each a steady stream of these types of encounters to deal with and ultimately grow from.

What we can do however is know when it’s happening, be alert and recognize when we are being triggered and having some strategies for how we plan to deal with these situations when they occur. Strategies that make us feel proud of our ability to manage our emotions and behaviour better.
Other than self-awareness, strategies such as setting limits/boundaries, relaxation techniques like meditation & breathing work, daily exercise, taking time out for reflection, having a therapist, coach or trusted friend to speak to can do wonders in managing these stressful episodes / events.
What strategies have you tried before, and have they worked for you in the past?
In our previous post we spoke about sore points a bit. Can you see the difference between a sore point & a stress trigger?
